Grilling is my passion! And one of the things I’ve learned after owning several different types of grills is that having the right accessories (like a good grill cover) can be a very worthwhile investment. I learned this lesson the hard way so I’ve tested out quite a few different ones to see which works the best, is the most durable and so forth. But besides grill covers there are a few other things I’m including that I’ve found to be great additions to making sure you have a great grilling experience!
Now grill covers are one of those things you don’t necessarily think about getting when you first get your grill. You’re ready to start cooking and the last thing you may want to do is cover up your new pride and joy. And let’s face it, grill covers don’t look as cool as the grills themselves in all their glory.
But that being said, grill covers can really help to protect and preserve your grill. And after seeing harsh weather beat up a grill I spent a good deal of money on, I made sure to never make that mistake again. So I want to share some of the grill covers that have worked best for some of the grills I’ve used. And hopefully you’ll avoid making the same mistake I did 🙂
Char-Broil Rip-Stop Cover
First up is the “Char-Broil Rip-Stop Cover” which has been one of favorite grill covers now for a while. It comes in different sizes depending on whether you have 2 burners on up to 5+ burners. This cover is extremely durable, and will protect your grill from the harshest elements.
It fit my grill well and I found it relatively easy to take on and off. The downside is this cover will probably cost you a few bucks more than the cheaper ones out there. But if you want something that squirrels aren’t going to be getting through and want something you won’t have to be replacing every year or two then this is a great one to get.
Kingkong Grill Cover
Another super tough and durable grill cover is the Kingkong Grill Cover. Out of all the grill covers I’ve used and tried, this one is my favorite! I use it for the Weber Spirit Grill and man is this thing a beast. It’s extremely heavy duty and durable. I enjoy watching the elements just try to break this cover down, but it’s seemingly impossible.
If you have a Weber Spirit 220 or 300 series grill, this will fit it perfectly! I’ve even used grill covers made by Weber that didn’t work and fit as well as this Kingkong cover does. Also with the weber covers I’ve used in the past, they would start to crack after a while whereas this one hasn’t shown any sign of cracking so far.
This is one of those covers that I highly recommend to anyone who owns or is planning on purchasing the one of the above mentioned Weber Spirit Grills. I can say with all confidence that you won’t regret it.
Pit Boss Ceramic Charcoal Barbecue Grill Cover
The last cover I have to recommend right now is made for the Pit Boss Ceramic Charcoal Barbecue. This particular cover fits both the K18 and K22 models. It includes a draw string for a secure fit and it’s well constructed. I found it to be a lot more durable than the typical grill cover you might find at some big box store.
This is not one of those covers that will probably not change your life (the way the Kingkong cover might, haha) but it gets the job done and does it well. And I found it really annoying when I had to replace a cover every season or two because the cover kept breaking down, cracking, etc. So if you own the Pit Boss Grill or if you’re planning on getting one I would also recommend this cover with it.
CookinPellets 40PM Perfect Mix Smoking Pellets
And I will say that one’s personal preference does come into play a bit here. But, it’s like asking which pizza or burger place is the best in town. Not everyone will probably agree on which one is the best, but it will be pretty obvious which ones are the top choices.
And that’s how I feel about the “Perfect Mix Smoking Pellets” by CookinPellets. My grilling friends that use pellets are all hooked on these as well. They only use the top 4 hardwoods and there is no oak or alder filler. And they work extremely well with a Camp Chef Pellet Grill and Smoker (which is what I use).
They’re the cleanest burning pellets I’ve used so far and just have a great all around flavor. Just can’t say enough great things about these!
