When I was in High School, my biggest passion was art. Art class was my favorite time of the day and I would even stay after just to spend as much time working on some painting project as I could. The art room was like my home away from home. So it excited me when I started to see some of my kids get into artistic and creative type projects. Although none of the kids have take a huge interest in painting, a few of them are really getting into sewing and other creative projects that I am not as familiar with. The following items are things that my family loves using for doing something creative and artsy with.
Tear Away Machine Embroidery Stabilizer Backing
One of my daughter’s has really gotten into sewing. She’s starting to make doll clothes and even working on costumes. We recently got her the Brother PE770 Embroidery machine and she’s using that all the time now. We’ve been learning as go what kinds of things you need to get with an embroidery machine, but of the items we’ve been buying a lot of is stabilizer backing.
There are a number of different types to choose from, but the one that’s worked the best for us is by World Weidner. It comes in 100 pre-cut sheets and my daughter hasn’t had any problems with it whatsoever. The stabilizer comes off just like it should and everything about it works smoothly.
It’s definitely the perfect size for 5×7 hoops and even works for 6×10 hoops, but if you have something a little smaller than a 5×7, you might find it a little trickier to work with. Again, this is one of those products we seem to keep ordering and so I’d highly recommend it for anyone getting into embroidery or for anyone who hasn’t found a stabilizer backing they like using yet.
