My Favorite Musical Accessories
Growing up, my whole family was pretty musical. My dad sang and played piano. My sisters each played violin. And I played piano as well. My cousins were super musical and would perform at the annual Octoberfest. So I was no stranger to being around musically talented people.
As time has gone by, I have used many different music and music related accessories. Some have really impressed me in one way or another and those are the ones I want to highlight for you below. Overall, these are all items that have provided a lot of value and use to me personally.
Behringer Ultravoice Xm8500 Dynamic Vocal Microphone
Depending on who you talk to, a microphone can and should be a major purchase. They feel that if you’re spending less than $100 then you’re probably not getting something worth having. I disagree with this viewpoint and this Behringer microphone is a perfect example of that.
I bought this mic to use with our ION Audio Tailgater, as it has the option to plug in a mic and one isn’t included. This was something that the kids would use primarily so I wasn’t interested in spending a lot of money, especially if they broke or damaged the mic. But on the other hand, I didn’t want to go so cheap that you could hear a lot of hiss or other distracting noises from the mic in the background.
And that’s when I came across this microphone at the recommendation of a friend who’s in the music business. I have been so impressed with how good it sounds, especially compared to $100 mics. You actually get a professional sounding mic with good build quality as well for such a reasonable price. And although the kids are the ones mainly using this, if you needed or wanted to you could certainly use this for speaking on stage or if your traveling and needed a decent microphone to use.
And again, because it doesn’t cost that much, if something happens to it it’s not the end of the world. This is one of those products I wouldn’t hesitate to suggest to anyone and everyone needing a budget microphone (but that doesn’t sound like one). It’s definitely a product I’d highly recommend.
