Now I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a huge car guy. I don’t mind working on cars and it’s actually fun and relaxing to spend time doing that. But it’s one of those things where I know enough to be dangerous and can start doing more harm than good with what I do know. So generally I try to stay away from fixing any family vehicles on my own. But what I’ve found is there are a few accessories that I’ve come to really count on and use quite often. So those are the ones I wanted to talk about below.
Smittybilt Universal Snatch Block
Our jeep is one of our most used vehicles. Even though it’s older (1997) it’s still humming right along like a champ. I have a Smittybilt Synthetic Rope Winch attached to it which is always fun to use. And what I found is that after I incorporated this snatch block into the mix, I was about doubling the pulling strength of my winch. I had no idea it was going to make that much of a difference.
Now on the downside the tolerance can be a little loose. But considering the price of this snatch block and how reasonable it is to purchase, I think it’s a very fair price and a good value.
This is one of those items that I think makes a ton of sense to add to your arsenal if you have a winch. It’s a great way to get more pulling power for not much money. Just double-check to make sure it will be compatible with what your using, but this snatch block is a universal fit, so it should work in most applications.
Briggs & Stratton 30W Engine Oil
I didn’t think I’d ever be raving about engine oil but this stuff is worth talking about. I use this primarily with my Yamaha EF2000iS which is a gas powered portable inverter.
It’s a great portable inverter to use but it’s important to have oil on hand for it. And in my experience, this has been the perfect oil to use on a small engine like this. Haven’t had any problems with it and it’s kept my Yamaha working like a champ.
